ROBSON NAMED SCRATCH LEAGUE TEAM MVP

Vice Captain Mike Robson was nominated Sharjah Golf & Shooting Clubs most valuable player (MVP) for their victorious 2017/18 campaign. The 39 year old Englishman participated in all 10 of SGSC’s fixtures between November and June incredibly winning all ten of them. Nicknamed the postman Robson commented upon receipt of the award “I was just small part in the absolute machine that was Sharjah’s Scratch League Team this season. I’m both surprised and honoured to win this award”. In typically modest fashion Robson quickly pointed out that he wasn’t the only unbeaten player over the course of the season with other notable performances coming from Chris Alderman and playoff hero Nathan Fisher, who both won all 9 of their 9 matches. Also teenage Chinese sensation William Xu, who only made his debut in January, won all 6 of his 6 matches (as well as partnering Fisher in the playoff victory). Significantly all 6 were against stiff opposition and very much at the ‘business end’ of the season.

SGSC will kick off the defence of their title in October.
