18 holes not enough to determine the 12th SGSC Ladies Champion

SGSC 12th Ladies Open Golf Championship 2020

Saturday 8th February

On the 8th of February Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club hosted its 12th Ladies Open Golf Championship, the course is currently in excellent condition and the players were full of praise.

Eighteen holes proved not enough for this years title to be decided, Hyeonji Kang (EGC) and Natalii Gupta (TIGC) both posted scores of seventy three so we had a playoff to see who would be crowned champion.  Some excellent golf was produced in the playoff and after a staggering eight extra holes Hyeonji eventually defended her title. The final play off hole saw Natalli find the water down the right hand side with her tee shot, and a very well played par from Hyeonji saw her lift the title after a grueling twenty six holes. This is the third year in a row that Hyeonji has won this event at a course that must really suit her eye. Runner Up Natalli Gupta was very unlucky to lose out on the day as a couple of chances slipped agonizingly past the hole. Chantal El-Chaib (ADGC) took third place a three put on the 18th saw her miss out on joining the playoff by just a single shot as she posted a seventy four.  The net prize on the day was won by Liang Wei Liu with a net score of level par seventy two.
