Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club played host to an exhilarating finale of the Orient Travel & Saudi Tourism Monthly Medal season on Sunday, May 18th. The event not only crowned the May champion but also marked the conclusion of the season long Net and Gross Order of Merit (OOM) competitions. With spectacular prizes on offer including coveted trips to Thailand the competition was fierce.
Jin Kang produced a stellar round to clinch the May Monthly Medal, carding a superb net 70. His round featured five net birdies and two net eagles. His victory was secured by countback over Shagir Mohammed, who also posted a net 70 but narrowly missed out on top honours. Aamir Inam completed the podium with a solid performance, finishing third on a score of net 71.
The season long Order of Merit races added extra spice to the day’s competition. With multiple contenders still in the running for top honours and the chance to win trips to Thailand the final standings were hotly contested.
It was a monumental day for Josh Vardy, who completed a phenomenal season by winning both the Net and Gross OOM titles. Josh secured the Gross OOM with relative ease, showcasing his dominance throughout the year. In the Net OOM, he held firm on the final day as his closest challengers couldn’t quite close the gap.
In the Net OOM, Gaurav Ajmani capped off a superb campaign by finishing runner up, narrowly edging out Club Captain Shaheen Butt, who claimed third place. In the Gross OOM, Ramli Sulaiman secured second place, followed by Sami Butt in third both of whom have enjoyed impressive seasons.
