Nepalese Golf Society Crowned Champions in Thrilling Golf Society League Final at SGSC
Sharjah, UAE – 4th May 2025 – The Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club hosted the grand finale of the Golf Society League supported by GolfAway on Sunday, 4th May. After months of gripping competition, the final four societies battled for glory in a dramatic finish to what has been a sensational season of golf.
The final featured a tense showdown between the Nepalese Golf Society and the Sharjah Bunker Boyz in a fourball better ball matchplay format. In the first match, Nepalese Captain Mukti Rai and partner Shagir Mohammed secured a convincing win over Bunker Boyz Captain Humayun Kaleen and Zamir Bukhari. In the second match, the Sharjah Bunker Boyz duo—Club Captain Shaheen Butt and Shoab Khan—were locked in a tightly contested battle against the Nepalese Golf Society’s Giren Ghimire and Diman Rai, heading to the 18th hole all square. In a moment of brilliance, Captain Shaheen Butt chipped in on the final hole to win the match, forcing a dramatic playoff between the two societies.
Captains selected their strongest pairings for the playoff hole, with Mukti Rai & Shagir Mohammed taking on Shaheen Butt & Shoab Khan. Under immense pressure, Mukti Rai delivered a flawless drive, a precise approach, and a composed birdie putt to secure victory for the Nepalese Golf Society, reclaiming the title and earning four incredible trips to Thailand, courtesy of event sponsor GolfAway.
Despite a valiant effort, the Sharjah Bunker Boyz concluded the season as runners-up, following a commendable campaign full of strong performances.
In the third-place playoff, Social Golf Society overcame KEGS in a competitive match to secure a podium finish.
