Ryan and Berry handle new format challenge in the BMW Pairs Open Social

The BMW Series Open Social was hosted on Friday the 28th of February. Competitors faced a format of two man better ball for the front nine and a brand new salsa format on the back nine, where on the even holes competitors had to combine their net scores.

Topping the pile on the day were the pair of Greg Ryan and Richard Berry, who returned a score of sixty five that proved enough to top the leaderboard at the end of the day. The pair had a solid front nine posting four under par thirty two in the better ball format. They came alive in the back nine in what is difficult format and combined for a very impressive four under par. This gave the pair a total of eighty one to win on the day by three shots.

Other winners on the day were SGSC club captain Rory Thomson and youngster Max Hibbert who had an unbelievable front nine score of seven under par twenty nine to win the better ball format prize on offer, unfortunately the pair fell away slightly on the back nine. Back nine winners were Bud Peppe and Roan Shuttleworth who posted a great score of fifty one in the Salsa format.
